Thanks for the help! Unfortunately, I ran into problems while trying to copy some of the files over to the new profile as suggested by that link. I'm out of ideas so if anyone can help me out, I'd really appreciate it!!! Again, I did not have this problem streaming my media libraries FROM CompĪ when Windows 7 (and Vista!) were installed on it.

Prior to switching out my routers, I also did a clean reinstall of Windows 8 and the problem persisted. The new routers did not fix this issue as I was hoping they would. I just bought the new EA2700 routers because I thought my previous really old routers were somehow causing these problems, even though there wasn't an issue with media library streaming using the old router setup when Comp A was running Windows 7. They are connected either wired or wirelessly to the second router, not the main router that Comp A is on.

The other mach9ines are hooked up to a SECOND EA2700 that is cascaed from the My network setup is one main router (Linksys EA2700) hooked to a cable modem that is connected to ports throughout the house.

I just can't remotely stream the libraries that are on Comp A to any other machine (running Windows 8, 7, or a PS3 which also didn't have issues when Comp A was running Windows 7). The strange thing is that Comp A can stream media libraries from the other computers on my network without a problem. However, I can see Comp A's shared folders and access those files since it shows up under the Homegroup in the file explorer. Please contact the device manufacturer for more information." When I try to access this computer's (let's call this Comp A for clarity) libraries using ANOTHER machine's WMP, I get the error "The remote media library did not allow the connection. I did not have this problem when this same machine was on Windows 7. I've been having a problem using the media server capability of Windows Media Player since upgrading to Windows 8.
